Check out Peru with me! It has a lot to offer, including the stunning Machu Picchu
Cusco (sometimes written as Cuzco) is in Southern Peru and surrounded by Inca ruins. The famous Machu Picchu is an overnight trip, or multi-day hike, away. The sacred valley and rainbow mountains are a day trip away. And there are many other attractions – both natural and Incan – easily accessible from town.
The city itself is very tourist-friendly. There are many museums, restaurants, and plazas for you to enjoy. You can also expect staff to speak English to you, though any Spanish you use will be appreciated.
One thing to keep in mind is that Cusco is high in the Andes. Very high. Altitude sickness is a real possibility. To prevent it, or to cure it, you can try coca leaves or the many coca candies and teas available. Alternatively, there are tablets available over the counter in every pharmacy.
